About the Project

Taradale Primary School New Learning Centre

This project is an excellent case study of a sustainable building with simple solutions that can be used by the school to demonstrate their sustainability learning strategy to students.

The building’s location on the site was made after a holistic site assessment of existing buildings and associated outside spaces. In addition to the floor area this building provides sheltered outside learning and circulation spaces that will be used by several existing classrooms or students using the school’s Library which this building abuts. The building’s location and design makes the most of the schools existing and future plans for other student gardening activities in this area.
